1. What Sira Le Seriw is
Sira Le Seriw ("ስራ ለሰሪው", "we") is an Ethiopian marketplace where buyers hire independent creators for creative and digital services, paid in birr. We are the intermediary: we provide the platform, hold payments in escrow, and mediate disputes. The work itself is delivered by independent creators — they are not our employees.
2. Accounts
One account can both buy and sell. You must give accurate information, keep your password private, and be able to enter contracts under Ethiopian law. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, impersonate others, or abuse other users. "Verified" badges mean we checked a creator's identity — they are a trust signal, not a guarantee of work quality.
3. How payment & escrow work
When you order, you pay the listed package price in birr through our payment partners (Chapa — cards, Telebirr, CBE Birr, bank transfer). Your money is held by Sira Le Seriw in escrow — the creator can see it is secured but cannot touch it. It is released to the creator only when you approve the delivery, or when a dispute is resolved in the creator's favour.
4. Fees
Buyers pay exactly the listed price — nothing is added on top. Sira Le Seriw charges creators a 5% platform fee, deducted from their payout when an order is released. Optional promotions (homepage placements) are separate, clearly priced, and paid by creators who choose them. Launch promotion: Founding Creators (the first 100 with a complete profile) pay 0% platform fee on their first 5 orders. Digital Suq launch: product sales currently carry a 0% platform fee (this may change with notice on this page).
5. Delivery, revisions & approval
Each package states its delivery time and included revisions. When the creator delivers, review the work: approve it to release payment, or request the included revisions. If it still is not right, you may open a dispute within 3 days of delivery. If you neither approve nor dispute, we may release payment to the creator after a reasonable period, since the work was delivered.
6. Disputes & refunds
Our team reviews disputes based on the order brief, the messages, and the delivered work, and decides on a full refund, a partial refund, or release to the creator. Refunds go back the way you paid. If a creator fails to deliver at all, you get your money back. Decisions made in a dispute are final on the platform.
7. Keep it on the platform
Escrow can only protect payments made through Sira Le Seriw. Taking an order's payment outside the platform (cash, direct Telebirr, etc.) removes every protection for both sides and may lead to account suspension. Keep briefs, files, and agreements in the order chat — that record is what protects you in a dispute.
8. Content & conduct
Creators must own or have rights to the work they deliver; once an order is completed and paid, the delivered work belongs to the buyer unless the service says otherwise. Do not use the platform for anything illegal, deceptive, hateful, or infringing. We may remove content or listings that break these rules.
9. Privacy — what we collect and why
We store what the service needs to run: your name, username, email, city, profile content, orders, messages, and payment records (processed by Chapa — we never see full card details). We use browser storage to keep you signed in. We do not sell your data. We share it only with our payment processor to move your money, or if Ethiopian law requires. You can ask us to correct or delete your account data via the contact below; order records needed for financial/legal reasons may be retained.
10. Liability
We work hard to keep the platform safe and available, but it is provided "as is". We are not liable for creators' work quality beyond the dispute process above, or for losses beyond the amount you paid for the order concerned.
11. Changes & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia. We may update them; the current version always lives at this page with its effective date.
